My wife and I recently embarked on a 2000 mile southern road trip. I learned a lot about my country in the last week. There were many history based stops along the way. We headed south to Oklahoma City in which we visited the state capitol and witnessed the horror of pure evil at the Oklahoma City National Memorial.
We stopped by Dallas and saw the reality of hatred and communist anger at the 6th Floor Museum at Dealy Plaza.
We stopped by Fort Worth and saw the history of people that are just as real today as they ever were. These are the same people that many elitist liberals would make fun of and call them small minded and backwards. We took a tour on horseback of the historic stockyards district of Fort Worth, our tour guide was an African-American rancher who had been a teacher and a cop at different points in his life. People like this gentleman are becoming harder to find, hardworking would be an understatement. You know what, he didn’t see color and he didn’t claim the cards were ever stacked against him.
We went to Austin were we saw the second tallest capitol in America, yes it’s true, everything really is bigger in Texas. Texans are neat people who are just as proud of their state as they are their country. A mentality I fear that is disappearing in this massive federal onslaught.
We moved on to Little Rock were we toured their state capitol and visited the historic Central High School and the visitors center that is on site. This is the place were nine courageous african-american youth stood up against the most evil of racial prejudice and hatred just so they could go to school. These young people didn’t get the priviledge to go to a prestigious private school on Hawaii.
Finally, we visited my sister and her husband and my new little baby nephew in southern Missouri. They live on a farm where her husband works the land and also works as a lineman. He might just be the one that gets your electricity back on when you have that rough storm. There are some things my sister and I don’t agree on. But, her husband is like many Americans around this country that believe in what this country was founded upon.
My point in all of this is that our trip reminded me about what makes this country great and what we must do to keep it that way. Many Americans have seen the reality of this new president and the house and senate that surrounds him and are literally scared. I am one of them. This radical socialist that is Obama is the scariest thing to be elected in the history of this nation. I am not just lobbing insults at him, actually open your damn eyes and do a little reading and you might be astonished at what you see. Associations define people and what they are, Obama’s associations are no secret.
I have become very politically active over the last few months. I continuously write and add emails to my email list. I have joined a political action group, spoken at a political rally, and emailed and called my senators and congressman. The fight before us is incredibly daunting. I hear many people say I don’t know what to do they are not listening. Trust me they are listening, you just have to keep it up. The future of this nation is up to each and everyone of us to work our asses off in the next couple of years. I don’t care if you don’t think you have the time, you must find the time! Turn off the American Idol and Dancing With the Stars and do something productive with your life. Your country is being destroyed while you watch morons competing for fame.
We have to have a dialogue, talk to your friends, talk to your family members, talk to your coworkers at work, start sending any email that is informative and respectful on to everyone you know. It is no longer a conversation that can be avoided. This country will not survive if we allow those on the left and the liberal conservatives to destroy the very principles that so many veterans have fought and died for.
This country will not be turned into this socialist utopia that Obama is aiming for! My children’s future will not be sacrificed by the wants of a lazy uneducated electorate! I am not your keeper and nor will I ever be!
