An oldie, but a goodie

I wrote this before the election and blasted it out through email. I was sitting here watching Beck that I DVRed from Friday and was reminded of what I saw coming back in November. I wish more people had listened.

Why I am not voting for Barack Obama…and why you shouldn’t either!

I am writing to you because I am gravely concerned about the future of this country and plan on doing anything I can to encourage rational people to make a good decision on Tuesday when they go to the polls. America is a special place, one in which anything is obtainable, the only prerequisite is that you work hard to earn it. This may change and what is a great country will change to what was a great country.

Probably 50% (maybe more) of people that read this email will sit at the computer and realize that there is another American out there like them that is willing to stand up for what is right. Some of you will get angry, and yell words at the computer that you do not quite grasp the meaning of. Selfish may be one of those. Some of you will listen and possibly view the world differently, you may even change your mind about something. This is truly who this is directed at. So now that I have your attention let me lay out the nuts and bolts for you about Mr. Obama.

First, Mr. Obama has the least experience of any person to ever run for President. This man has spent most of his adult life in one of three areas; academia, law/school legal profession, and politics. Barack Obama has a political science degree from the Columbia University. So do I, 2003 UMKC. I cannot quite figure out how a man who has studied other governments can come to the political conclusions that he does. They just defy any amount of reason. Barack Obama’s main message is based upon socialism and altruism, both have been indoctrinated in other countries and have failed without doubt. I went to school with many individuals like him at UMKC, they don’t see the world for the realities that exist, they see it through the lenses of a failed ideology that does not work. After this he went off community organizing, whatever that means exactly. Next he was on to Harvard law school, a typical course for a poli sci major. As is heralded so greatly he was elected President of the Harvard Law review. Do you know that Mr. Obama never published one article for that journal? After law school he went on to publish one of his books and eventually landed at the University of Chicago Law School where he taught, laughably, Constitutional Law for four years. It was toward the end of his time here that he met the unrepentant terrorist Bill Ayers and began his political career. Two degrees from big name colleges does not qualify him to be President. I have met many book smart people and one thing they lack is common sense. Facts and information is useless without practical application and that is one thing they don’t teach you in the halls of academia. I am not trying to demean the value of a college degree, but it is what you take out of it that matters. I am not sure what Mr. Obama received out of his two degrees.

Second, Mr. Obama is a socialist not a democrat. The fact that people choose to deny this is absolutely amazing to me. Socialism is redistribution of wealth and government run enterprises. We know he supports this because of his record! His now infamous quote to Joe the plumber, “I just want to spread the wealth around.” Let’s not forget socialized medicine either. Still don’t believe me, let’s go through this logically. First the definition of socialism is as follows: System of social organization in which private property and the distribution of income are subject to social control; also, the political movements aimed at putting that system into practice. Mr. Obama has publicly said that he wants to “spread the wealth around.” I didn’t say that, he did. Look at the damn words, SPREAD THE WEALTH AROUND. As if this man has a right to determine an individuals economic worth. This is a system that subjugates the rich to the poor, the earned to the unearned, the incompetent to the competent. There is no difference between taking a persons income through the auspices of the government and a thief that accosts a wo/man on the street and takes their wallet. In actuality it is probably worse because at least the thief doesn’t discriminate based upon income. Now I know the retort to this and I fully accept the fact that some taxes are necessary. Taxes are not acceptable when you are taking from one only to give to another under the goal of economic equality. Look at the words that surfaced recently from a 2001 NPR Interview of Mr. Obama “but the supreme court never ventured into the issues of redistribution of wealth and sort of basic issues of political and economic justice in this society, and to that extent, as radical as people try to characterize the Warren court, it wasn’t that radical.” Then he goes on to say “you know maybe I am showing my bias here as a legislator as well as a law professor, but you know, I am not optimistic about bringing about major redistributive change through the courts, you know the institution just isn’t structured that way just look at very rare examples where during the desegregation era the court was willing to for example.” Thank the founding fathers for their intelligence in structuring our government the way they did, the problem, is it isn’t structured that way anymore. Look at the interview that Joe Biden had with Barbara West on Florida television, he laughed and dodged the question.

I do acknowledge the bailout and realize that this is socialistic in nature. I am vehemently against it. The only way that I rationalize this is that it is not a permanent condition unlike stealing from one to give to another in the hopes of creating a nanny state.

Socialism can also be defined as an economic system in which the government owns certain businesses that normally would be provided for in the public sector. Health care is a private system. I am so tired of Americans running around saying that health care is a right. It is a privilege and a personal responsibility. The old adage you are guaranteed two things in life, taxes and death, this still holds true. Look there are 47 million Americans without health care because there are 47 million Americans who have made a conscious choice not to be personally responsible. You are entitled to your life but that is it. You are not guaranteed that life to continue unless you act on your own. National health care does not work, this is not an opinion this is a fact. Do the research yourself. It’s more expensive, it’s abused, and it’s inefficient. There is no society on the face of the earth that has a socialized health care system that works. Just read this one example about Canada:
You create socialized medicine, you attract just what you don’t need, the most expensive cases. The problem is, you have to pay for them, it is every one’s responsibility. I am sorry that life is scary and that you could die, but that is a risk I am happy to take.

Third, Mr. Obama has the absolutely worst associations. These associations are real, and not made up. Bill Ayers is a Communist Marxist that thought it was acceptable to kill police officers of our own country. It is a fact that these two were associated. Obama started his career in his living room, this wasn’t a chance encounter, Ayers held a fundraiser in his honor. The Chicago Annenberg Challenge, the infamous board they served on together, had Obama as the head of the board. He knew who this man was and if you want to deny reality and ignore the logical abilities of your mind that is your choice. Mr. Obama has two college degrees, right? He is experienced, right? He is this great leader, right? For him to be in this man’s home and work together on a board, for education of all things, is beyond poor decision making. You think this makes him qualified? Do not forget Jeremiah Wright either, Obama’s pastor of twenty plus years, Obama’s self proclaimed spiritual advisor. Obama says he doesn’t agree with the positions of Mr. Wright, which include the belief that the government created the AIDS virus and HIV to kill African-Americans. Wait a minute, he was his spiritual advisor and married the Obama’s, but he doesn’t agree with his extreme ideology. C’mon! If you know someone on a personal level that spews lies and hatred like Wright and then do nothing…you do not have the skill set to be a leader. This above all else makes Obama unqualified to be President of our great country.

Fourth, we have a 10 TRILLION dollar deficit. If you raise taxes on the wealthy, those that create jobs and capital you will cause economic ruin. You know why there is so much fear on Wall Street? It is a combination of a slowing world economy and fear of a set of new expenses on companies balance sheets in America. Companies leave America because of our tax structure not because labor is too expensive. Look at your paycheck sometime. Your employer pays the exact same amount of FICA (social security taxes) and medicare taxes as you do. If Obama gets in these companies will leave, this is a global economy. Someone who has the ability, the talent, and know how to create jobs is not obligated to you and should be able to charge what they want for that product. You wouldn’t buy it if it was too expensive. If Obama gets in and creates all of these new programs he is promising you, taxes will go up, companies will collapse or leave, revenues will fall, and our deficit will increase. It is time for fiscal responsibility in this country and you won’t get that with Mr. Obama. That’s not change, that’s more of the same.

Finally, we still haven’t ever learned just what “change” is. If you don’t want another Bush and you think that McCain is the same, then vote third party. It’s like people are willing to sell their soul to the devil just so they don’t have “another” Bush. Do you realize that there are five candidates on the Missouri ballot? You could vote for Bob Barr, Cynthia McFadden, or Chuck Baldwin if you want change. If change means this socialist agenda that has failed in every society in the world then you will get what you vote for, but you won’t like change once we get there. If change means what I really think it means, we are all doomed. People run around screaming about change and saying that they “feel” that Obama is what we need. Use the greatest gift that you have, the rational mind. Don’t make your decision based upon emotion.

If you believe like I do, open up your contact lists and send this message on to others. If you know some that are willing to open their minds up and listen to reason send this to them. Look, I know that Mr. McCain is not the complete answer because he is similar to Bush, but I didn’t vote for Bush either time. I am asking you to do what is right this time, this year, 2008. What is right is to not vote for Barack Obama.

If you respond to this I may or may not have time to acknowledge your comments it just depends on what you have to say. I am willing to debate anyone anytime, but my life takes precedent. Thank you for your time.
