As many of you know, both my wife and I are public school teachers and active politically in Clay County. This morning we had an opportunity to participate in a focus group for the Liberty Public School District. Liberty is working on it’s strategic plan for “Excellence Through the 21st Century.”

So many people in American society today demean our public education system. At times, it seems that it is a bipartisan effort. The thing that continually fascinates me about the complainers is that they do little, or absolutely nothing to get involved in the process. Many of you know someone, or are possibly a resident inside of the Liberty School District. As a patron you are effectively an institutional investor and have a stake in the direction of the district. Please consider taking the time to participate in a focus group or just take the survey that Liberty is using to compile data for the plan. Your input does matter whether you are a parent or not. Remember our public schools determine our future societies and it’s up to us to help steer them in the direction we want them to go.

You can find more about the strategic plan here:
